Here's the thing about roof damage - it rarely announces itself. Most homeowners have no idea there's a problem until water is dripping from the ceiling. By then, you're not just dealing with a roofing issue. You're dealing with damaged drywall, soaked insulation, and a repair bill that's a lot bigger than it needed to be.

We were called out to a home in Northlake and found shingles missing with the OSB decking sitting completely exposed underneath. No protective layer, no shingles, just raw wood open to whatever the sky decided to throw at it. With rain in the forecast, this wasn't something that could wait.

We got the area repaired - new shingles installed and properly layered back into the existing field so everything ties together cleanly. The finished section sits flush with the surrounding roof, which matters a lot for long-term performance. A patch that doesn't integrate correctly just creates another problem down the road.

This is exactly why a roof inspection is worth doing before small issues compound. Catching exposed decking at this stage kept the repair straightforward. Left alone through a heavy rain, that same spot could have meant rotted sheathing, water intrusion into the attic, and a much larger scope of work. Early detection is the cheapest form of roof maintenance there is.

If it's been a while since anyone has actually looked at your roof - not just glanced at it from the driveway - it's worth getting up there and checking. We do inspections throughout the Northlake area and can tell you exactly what you're working with.
